I've flicked a wet towel at the Toronto Public Library more than once in this blog. And every time I've snapped the piece of damp fabric TPL has deserved it. But credit where credit is due: Last week I placed holds on four books, a pair of Hemingway biographies, the late, great Art Buchwald's romp I'll Always Have Paris and U of Lethbridge prof Craig Monk's Writing the Lost Generation, which, I assure you, will not be a romp.
I expected to wait at least a few weeks or longer. So imagine my surprise when I got a metallic robocall less than a week later saying my local library - the very good Davenport branch - had "one or more books on hold" for me. There they were, all four books. Well done, TPL.
